As with any refit project, there needed to be a clear understanding of what needed to be accomplished and to maintain the plan, making it possible to set a budget and outline a realistic time frame in which to complete the job.
With the Santana refit unforeseen issues did come up regardless of all the planning. If there was an "extra", the refit team would ask, "can this be done later without significantly harming our current task?"
For example, the entertainment system was hardly a top priority so this was done two years after the boat was relaunched.
